Coat Check Layouts
There are various types of coat check layouts. The most common include:
Coat Check Closets or Rooms: a dedicated coat check closet or room that demands minimal setup from the coat check captain. Requires only standard tasks including: organizing the space, confirming the numbering system, reviewing existing tickets, and ensuring proper organization of equipment
Built Coat Check Area: a dedicated area built out with a pipe and drape kit (”Pipe and Drape”), providing a more formal and polished appearance. Often the size of this area can be adjusted to accommodate different guest counts. Requires standard tasks as well as additional setup from the coat check captain, sometimes including the “construction” of the area
Sectioned Coat Check: a dedicated space cordoned off with a screen. Requires standard tasks as well as more substantial setup from the coat check captain, sometimes including “constructing’” and partitioning off the area
Aisle Coat Check: a series of coat racks positioned back to back to create aisles (similar to, e.g., a grocery store). Requires standard tasks as well as extensive setup from the coat check captain, often thoughtfully configuring the racks such that they correspond to a desired range of ticket numbers (e.g., 50 to 100)
