Pre-Event Preparation and Setup

Pre-event preparation refers to the stage prior to an event in which service professionals, and particularly the captain, prepare for the event.

1. Review Safety Protocols, Focusing on Protocols for Managing Visibly Intoxicated Persons (VIPs)

Review all of the details related to safety independently and (if necessary) with other captains and the client. Review protocols for managing VIPs.

2.Review Documentation

Review all details of event documentation (e.g., BEO, ROS, Inventory Sheets) independently and (if necessary) with other captains.

3.Conduct a Pre-Event Bar Walkthrough

Schedule the walkthrough with enough time before the event to address any issues. Conduct a walkthrough with documentation to determine the location of built-in and temporary bars. Take notes and update any necessary event documentation.

4.Review, Organize, and Verify Equipment and Inventory and Communicate with Stakeholders

Review, organize, and verify equipment to ensure the presence, function, and condition of rented equipment and house equipment. Communicate with stakeholders to understand beverage offerings (if applicable).

5.Conduct a Bar Staff Meeting

Gather the bar staff (if applicable). Conduct a meeting.

6.Administer Setup

Administer bar setup with bar staff.
